Alexander Seltzer is a Slamdance-winning, Black List–recommended writer and director whose work blends emotionally grounded storytelling with high-concept genre to explore identity, control, and the darker edges of human nature.
As a filmmaker, his award-winning shorts have screened at major international and genre festivals including Fantasia, HollyShorts, and Galway Film Fleadh, with online premieres on Alter and Film Shortage.
Named one of Killer Shorts’ Top 10 Canadian Horror Screenwriters to Watch, he’s a Canada Council grant recipient and RIFF Talent Lab fellow whose scripts have earned multiple 8s and a 9 on The Black List, alongside top prizes at Slamdance and WeScreenplay.
With support from the Canada Council for the Arts, he’s currently developing his debut features Merrow and Klondike. His latest short, The Door, starring Tanaya Beatty (Yellowstone) and Raymond Ablack (Ginny & Georgia), hit 2 million+ views on YouTube in only two months.
When not developing his own projects, Alexander works as a Creative Director and video producer, helping brands tell compelling stories through film and content.
With over a decade of experience in commercials, branded content, and music videos, he’s created campaigns for leading companies including BEHR PRO, Skillshare, Net-A-Porter, Vice, Chanel, Le Château, Target, McDonald's, and Ford.
