Alexander Seltzer is a SLAMDANCE-winning writer, director, editor and producer. When he’s not crafting his own stories Alex works as a Creative Director helping brands create compelling and effective video content.

With a decade of experience in creating commercials, branded content, and music videos, Alexander’s work spans a wide range of industries.

Including working on videos for companies such as BEHR PRO, Skillshare, Net-A-Porter, Vice, Chanel, Le Chateau, Target, McDonald's and Ford.

His first short film “10-33” premiered at Fantasia Film Festival (CCE Best Editing Award) and played at other festivals around the world including Hollyshorts, Regard, FilmQuest, Terror Molins (Best Short Film Award), SPASM (Huis-Clos Award) among others. It is a featured short on FilmShortage and is distributed online by Alter.

His short, “I DO” (2023), financed by Canada Council of the Arts, is a ScreenCraft Film Fund finalist. He is currently in post-production on his next horror short, “The Door” (2023), starring Tanaya Beatty (Yellowstone) and Raymond Ablack (Netflix’s - Maid).

Alex’s pilots have scored a 9 on the Blacklist and placed in multiple competitions, including being selected as a TOP 5 finalist in the Tracking B TV competition.

His short coming-of-age, mermaid, horror - “MERROW” - recently won 1st place at SLAMDANCE and won at Killer Shorts. It is also the top horror short of all-time on Coverfly’s Red List and is being currently adapted into a feature.
